Chhattisgarh: Rajesh Vishwas, a food officer had gone to Kherkatta Paralkot Dam to party on Monday. During the party, the food officer was taking a selfie with his expensive phone, which slipped into the dam. The food officer got a chance to show his strength. He immediately ordered to remove the water from the dam with the help of water pumps. As soon as the orders of the food officer were received, the government employees started drawing water to find the phone.
The locals relied heavily on the water facility provided by the dam, which had a significant impact on their lives.
The pump was run nonstop for three days in order to remove water from the dam, which was filled to a depth of 10 to 15 feet. The food officer was using a Samsung S-series phone, which retailed for about Rs 96,000.
Amarjit Bhagat, the minister of food, said that since the issue has been brought to light, appropriate action will be taken. Collector Dr. Priyanka Shukla suspended the food inspector following an investigation into the incident of water being drained from the reservoir without permission after it caught fire.
