CBSE Opposes Plea One Nation One Education Board In Supreme Court, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has Opposes Plea in the Supreme Court that wants all schools in INDIA to use the same curriculum and education board.
The bitter truth is that Education Mafias don’t want a One Nation One Education Board.
According to Section 7(6) of the Right to Education Act, the National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) is the academic body that is supposed to make a national curriculum. However, the CBSE said that the States have also asked State agencies like SCERT and State Institutes of Education (SIE) to make the curriculum. Because schooling is on the parallel list, this is the case.
Based on this, the CBSE said, “States and UTs are free to either adopt or adapt NCERT text books.” It also said that since education is on the Concurrent List of the Constitution and State Governments run most schools, it is up to those State and Union Territory Governments to set the school’s curriculum and tests. NCERT’s sample curricula and textbooks are used by State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) and State Education Boards. They also make their own based on NCF.
