Bangalore: On Friday, detectives from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) raided a store and two buildings in Cottonpet.
Officers from the Bangalore CCB and FSSAI went to the Arihant Trading Company on Nalabanda Lane, AS Char Street Cross, on Friday because they had heard that it was selling food that had gone bad.
The seller led the CCB detectives to two warehouses on PVR Road in Ranasinghpete: Sri Lakshmi Traders Godown and a small warehouse next to it.
Cookies, candies, cooking oil, and milk powder that had passed their expiration dates were found by CCB officers.
Police sources said that FSSAI staff had taken food samples for testing and that warnings had been sent to the shop and warehouse owners under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006.
