Traffic Jam in Bangalore: A car causes a traffic congestion on the roads of Bengaluru

Solution is in your hands to solve traffic congestion

Bengaluru: Nowadays, Traffic jams in Bangalore have become very common, but there are many reasons for traffic jams in Bangalore. In our analysis, it has been found that traveling single in a car is causing traffic congestion in Bangalore city; most of the cars are private and are being used unnecessarily, which cause traffic jam, and many car users prefer using their own vehicles rather than public transportation, even for short distances.

Car users should switch to a two-wheeler when traveling Single or Two.

Save Green NGO, which is working for the environment, says that it is not hidden from anyone that private car users are contributing more to traffic congestion, and this is increasing daily in Bangalore city. Parking space is already unavailable, and people are buying cars without arranging parking space.

To promote Eco-friendly Transportation and reduce Traffic Congestion, Companies/MNCs should encourage their staff to use Public Transportation or ride a Bicycle or Motorcycle and “Not ALLOW #Parking for those #Single or #Two in a CAR”.

We have almost lost the environment of our Bengaluru city, and the government has cut down many trees to develop flyovers and road widening to solve the traffic issues in Bengaluru. Everyone ignores the environmental and traffic issues, and our generations will suffer the consequences. There are many NGOs doing awareness, but practically no results.

As part of a survey (Save Green), we asked some car owners to stop using cars if they travel Single or Two. Yet most people are very careless, and here we got surprising answers :

  • I am the company’s CEO/HR, etc.
  • There is no Reputation without a CAR.
  • A businessman says,” Clients give work and value by seeing my Car.
  • The Car is Safe and comfortable.
  • Protect from Rain and Pollution.
  • Nobody values or respects me when I use Public transportation or a Two-wheeler.
  • I get a chance to use a mobile phone while driving the car.

People park their cars on the sides of the roads, slowing down traffic and making things hard for others. A car takes up five times more parking space than a two-wheeler, so we encourage people to use two-wheelers because they don’t take up as much space on the road or in the parking lot.

Approximately 5-6 two-wheelers can park in the space that ONE car occupies in a parking area.

Two-wheeler users say that car users occupy all the available space on the road, including the Left side. They also say that car drivers who change lanes quickly pose a nuisance to other drivers, especially those on two-wheelers.

It would be safer for two-wheelers if the government implemented left-side lanes, OR It would be appreciated if drivers shared the left side of the road. This will avoid driving a two-wheeler on the footpath.

The solution is in your hands to solve traffic congestion: use a car whenever you go with more than two people. If we consider carpooling, it has not been widely successful due to various reasons.

Some people say that cars are safe, but it depends on the driver who drives the car. There is no guarantee that the car is very safe, as we have seen many accidents in which all the occupants of the car either died or got seriously injured.

Even I have stopped using a car long back and use a two-wheeler whenever we are one or two people. “Said Monish.”

Benefits of Owning a Two-Wheeler
  • Economical: A bike or scooter is cost-effective for city transportation. Compared to driving a car, maintaining two-wheelers is more affordable.
  • Low Maintenance: The cost of maintenance and servicing for bikes or scooters is significantly less than that of a car.
  • Ease of Parking: It is relatively easy to find parking spots for two-wheelers as they occupy less space.
  • Ignore Traffic: Two-wheelers can easily maneuver through heavy traffic and narrow lanes, providing a faster route to your destination.
  •  Insurance: Two-wheeler insurance premiums are more affordable than four-wheelers, making it easier on the pocket of the owner.

There are numerous benefits to having a two-wheeler.

Most people dislike public transport because buses are usually overcrowded and do not take us to our desired location. Meanwhile, auto-rickshaws and cabs are often unavailable or refuse to go, which is why people prefer to own personal vehicles.

This has effects on our economy such as traffic congestion, delay in reaching the destination and additional fuel consumption.

No one is against #Cars, but everyone must consider how & when to use the car.
