Bengaluru: The embezzlement of donated funds from the church by members of the trustee board was recently brought to light. However, a thorough investigation by the police led to the identification of three individuals involved in the theft and the successful recovery of the stolen funds.

Rs 1,72,000 and 20 grams of gold were returned to Reverend Father Chinappa. Jeevan Bhima Nagar Police checked the CCTV footage in the area & 5 people accused in this case – Dominic, Solomon Sabu, Josh, Viji, and Prabhu were released after a warning. The full amount was not returned, and estimated that they may have stolen around Rs 4,00,000.  John Paul, trust member.

Ashwini a Team member of ‘Rise UP for Rights‘ provided valuable assistance to the committee members in filing a police complaint. The people at the church remained silent because potential donors might have second thoughts about donating. It was John Paul’s persistence that led to the exposure of the theft.
