Bengaluru: On Tuesday, a 22-year-old engineering student suicide in Bengaluru after allegedly being harassed by executives from a Chinese mobile loan application. Tejas suicide at his home in Jalahalli, Bengaluru. He was a student at Nitte Meenakshi College in Yelahanka.

The agents allegedly used blackmail, harassment, threatening to reveal the student’s intimate images kept on his phone if he did not repay the money.

According to the police complaint, Tejas’s family reported he had taken some money in the form of a loan via the Slice loan app and kissht loan app Chinese app. He was, however, unable to return the money.

Online loan apps like Slice Loan App and Kisht Loan App have good reviews, and all are paid reviews.

According to the police, the student’s father, Gopinath, agreed to reimburse the cash in installments on behalf of his son after learning about the occurrence.

Recovery Agents from the mobile application allegedly visited Tejas, used intimidation methods, and made abusive, threatening phone calls.

Gopinath had requested more time to settle Tejas’s outstanding debt three days before his death, but the lenders refused.

The app agents allegedly made repeated calls to Tejas on Tuesday evening, prompting him to take the extreme move.

“Sorry, Mom and Dad, for whatever I did,” he wrote in a note. There is no other option for me. I am unable to repay any additional loans in my name, and this is my last decision… Goodbye.”
