Principal Lambert Pushparaj, aged 65, a principal of a private school, was arrested a few weeks ago by the Varthur police on charges of raping a class second girl. The Private School has been ordered to be closed permanently after the education department sent a notice to the administration. Last week, the education officer for South 4 issued this notice.
The closure of the school has also affected 140 students and eight teachers. Parents are enrolling their children in other schools; some have gone to government schools. The education department has informed all schools to immediately place these students in their respective classes.
The management was granted permission to start a school in Koramangala, but they illegally operated the school in Varthur, Bangalore.
