Bengaluru: The Consumer Court has imposed a Fine on ICICI Bank located on CMH Road, Indiranagar, Bangalore. Mr. Sunil Kumar has filed a complaint in Consumer Court against ICICI BANK for an unauthorized transaction; ICICI Bank had made a transaction without Mr. Sunil Kumar’s knowledge from his ICICI Bank Savings Account, Which led to a fine by the court.

Mr. Sunil Kumar booked a ticket using the IRCTC E-ticket Service and paid the total fare of ₹257 via ICICI Bank. His complaint is that ICICI Bank deducted ₹1.22 from his account without any reason and without sending an OTP four days after the transaction.

ICICI Bank had done the transaction against the guidelines of RBI.

Mr. Sunil corresponded with ICICI Bank to resolve the issue of deduction. However, ICICI Bank failed to provide a proper reason for the deduction. Subsequently, Mr. Sunil filed a case against ICICI Bank in the Consumer Court of Bengaluru.

Advocate Smt. Renu says that ICICI Bank failed to explain the reason for the deduction of 1.22 rs, and we filed a case against ICICI Bank for the deduction of Rs 1.22 and claimed damage of Rs 1 lakh. 

The consumer court imposed a fine of 7,000 rs on ICICI Bank, and the consumer court also has ordered that the fine has to be paid within 30 days, and interest will be charged at the rate of 9% per annum from the date of order; if ICIC Bank fails to pay the fine.
